Unipol was the leading insurance group in the non-life sector in Italy in 2018. With a market share (in terms of gross written premiums) of approximately 21 percent, the insurance company held the first position as in the previous year. Generali followed in the ranking with a market share of 15.2 percentage points. Moreover, Allianz ranked third with a market share of 13.1 percent.
